Toruń Art and Science Festival

The objective set by organisers of the festival is to popularise the science and art among inhabitants of Toruń and the whole region. The event is actively attended not only by staff of Toruń high schools, but also of local companies and institutions, which present scientific achievements applied by them in their works or activities related to the art. This is the distinctive feature of the Toruń festival among other similar endeavours organised in other academic centres.

Within four days, achievements of several scientific and art fields are presented. All interested inhabitants of the city and the region have a great opportunity to meet eye to eye with the real science and art. They can see the backstage of usually unavailable places- scientific laboratories and work places of scientists and artists. The festival allows acquiring scientific knowledge about many issues and everyday life phenomena.

Previous editions of the festival were successful in terms of the audience and organisation. The programme usually includes about 150 events – meetings, presentations, lectures, discussions, tours, exhibitions, workshops and contests. An interesting programme attracts about 30 thousands of participants, including also those from out of the city and even the region. Tickets for events with limited number of places are sold immediately.

The idea of the festival perfectly matches the atmosphere of Toruń – the city associated not only with exceptional monuments, but also with art and science. The Toruń festival is a member of the association of science festivals organisers in Europe (European Science Events Association).

Organisers: Nicolaus Coparnicus University, City Hall of Toruń, Scientific Society in Toruń.
