NCU in "the shell network"

Several years ago, Nicholas Copernicus University, on the initiative of the "NCU Graduate" Programme, joined the network of universities located in the Way of St. James (www.campus-stellae.org). In the Centre for Information and Promotion of NCU one can obtained Pilgrim Academic Passport, which acts as credential for pilgrims.

Thanks to the Pilgrim Academic Passport, any student, employee, as well as graduate of NCU who is setting off on the trail to Santiago de Compostela gains a proof of reaching subsequent stages of the road. It will become not only a souvenir, but also a document which allows for discounts in fees for transportation, sightseeing and accommodation, and on shopping and dining at designated places on the Way.

The pilgrim visits universities located along the route of the trek, where in the indicated points he or she can stamp the Passport, in this way completing stamps from the whole journey. Based on the Passport, upon reaching destination, one may obtain a certificate of accomplishing the pilgrimage to the tomb of St. James the Apostle, the so-called Academic Compostela, issued by the University of Navarra in Pamplona.
